Spa Relaxation Can Transmit a Disease

Bad news for fans of the fish spa, relaxation is quite unique vehicle this could actually transmit the disease. According to recent research, dangerous viruses such as HIV and Hepatitis C can be transmitted by fish-mediated.

Health protection agency in the UK, the Health Protection Agency recently warned that the fish spa can transmit Imunodeficiency Human Virus (HIV). Spa is done by soaking your feet in a tub of small fish that can also transmit hepatitis C.

Greatest risk of transmission in certain circumstances, such as diabetes and psoriasis or chronic skin inflammation due to autoimmune disorders. In addition, the condition of the immune system is weakened due to illness also makes one vulnerable to contracting HIV and Hepatitis C while doing fish spa.

Not known in more detail how the mechanism, but transmission is possible occurs if a person testing positive for HIV or Hepatitis C was bleeding when performing a spa. Viruses that contaminate the water will remain alive thanks to the small fish, and then infect the next patient.

Report of the Health Protection Agency said the risk of transmission is actually very small. Even so any small risk should not be overlooked when it comes to contagious infection that until now no cure as HIV, or Hepatitis C is also difficult to cure.

In a report based on research for 6 months, the Health Protection Agency confirmed that the fish spa managers should be very strict attention to cleanliness of the water. The water used must be replaced with new ones every time instead of the patient.

In some U.S. states and Canada, spa fish was banned for the same reasons the risk of transmitting various types of germs. As for sterilization will not be easy, because the usual methods of sterilization will harm the fish in it.
