Indonesia's economy by foreign considered among the best in the region and has proven resistant crisis. Indonesia's banking industry was judged the best in the region.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Standard Chartered Bank Indonesia said Tom Aaker, Indonesia's economy is currently shielded from the global crisis due to its strong domestic demand. So the crisis arising from the outside is not too disruptive domestic economic performance.

That's why Stanchart want to continue to develop its business in Indonesia more broadly. Stanchart is currently being ramped up financing or credit in the SME sector.

Here's an interview with Aaker detikFinance when met at Menara Standard Chartered Bank, Friday (30/09/2011).

How do your views on regulators following a bank in Indonesia?
Bank Indonesia is a powerful regulator in the banking industry in Indonesia. And banks in Indonesia was very nice and powerful, and Indonesia is one country that has the best bank in the region. Looking ahead, the banking industry in Indonesia will be integrated and continue to grow strongly with a special attention from Bank Indonesia and the Government.

One focus of Bank Indonesia is to begin reviewing for majority ownership restrictions, how do you think?
I think the BI does not require a rule. Rules now it's perfectly acceptable and we are quite happy with the rules of the BI. Where can finally Standard Chartered operates in Indonesia to help Indonesia's economy and Standard Chartered quite happy to open their branches here.

Standard Chartered started moving in the Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) and micro banking, how do you see business opportunities in Indonesia?
SME and Micro banking is one of the Biggest Oportunity in Indonesia. Where in Indonesia that has had millions of SMEs here.

How is the strategy?
Most have not yet accessed the banking industry, and bank products have not obtained them. I think this a good opportunity. And we'll go in and develop SMEs into bankable.

One of the competition is about interest rates, what is your strategy regarding the interest rate given to customers?
It depends of course customers. Where Standard Chartered will also provide a specific interest and which would be more competitive compared to other banks. Where SME is now a good business then we should all out to give the best with competitive interest rates.

Now with a bank and its cooperation, how in the future?
Actually it current with the bank but in addition to providing financing we also provide education, training, and development of MSMEs.

How Credit ceilings specially SMEs?
No, obviously we depend on the prospect as large will be given in full.

How many outstanding microcredit alone?
We just set up a micro since 2008. So from there up to now about almost USD 100 billion more. At Standard Chartered we are committed to providing support for both yanh changes in the various markets we operate. In addition to contributing to sustainable business growth in Asia, Africa and the Middle East, we are also committed to providing a broad positive impact on communities in our region live and work. Micro-credit facilities to banks in Indonesia is one concrete example of our efforts in memanjukan growth of micro businesses in Indonesia.

Global economic conditions are rocking, what is your opinion regarding the condition of the crisis on Indonesia in particular?
Indonesia is shielded from the name of the global crisis. Indonesia's economy depends on domestic demand side, exports depend not. So when Europe and the U.S. into recession and the fall in export demand would not affect Indonesia very much. Perhaps Singapore, Malaysia exports more to be felt.

Your own optimistic?
Indonesia has a huge demand for their domestic side will be strong. And what happens in our global world outside will never know, but the Indonesian government is strong enough and good enough to keep the economy and prudent and can maintain good relations with countries outside with a pretty wonderful. Indonesia's economic and let me emphasize strongly enough. And we are optimistic that Indonesia hold crisis.
